Genre - Horror

Horror films are unsettling movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers. They usually feature frequent jump scenes that make the viewers jump and startled through the means of macabre and the supernatural, thus frequently overlapping with the fantasy and science fiction genres. Horrors also frequently overlap with the thriller genre.

Horror is a very popular genre for films with a low budget a new popular example of this is "Paranormal activity" Paranormal Activity is an American
found footage horror film released initially in 2007. It was written and directed by Oren Peli.
Paranormal Activity premiered at
Screamfest Film Festival in North America on October 14, 2007, and was shown at the Slamdance Film Festival on January 18, 2008. The film received a limited U.S. release on September 25, 2009, and nationwide release on October 16, 2009.
The film centers on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home; it is presented in the style of "
found footage," from a camera set up by the couple in an attempt to photograph what is haunting them.
Paranormal Activity earned nearly $108 million at the U.S. box office and $194 million worldwide. Paramount/Dream Works acquired the U.S. rights for $350,000.
[9] The film is one of the most profitable movies ever made, based on return on investment, although such figures are difficult to verify independently and are likely to exclude marketing costs. The film was nominated for "best first feature" in the Independent Spirit Awards 2009.

another version of a low budget horror movie is "Blair witch project" The Blair Witch Project is an 1999 American horror film; the narrative is presented as a documentary pieced together from amateur footage, filmed in real time. The film was produced by the Haxan Films production company. The film relates the story of three young student filmmakers (Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard, and Michael C. Williams) who hike into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland to film a documentary about a local legend known as the Blair Witch, and subsequently go missing. The viewer is told that the three were never found, although their video and sound equipment (along with most of the footage they shot) was discovered a year later. This "recovered footage" is presented as the film the viewer is watching.

Horror film is a definite possibility for me to do for my Movie trailer as ideas are easy to come up with as Horror films tend to follow a basic plot; Its plots often involve the intrusion of an
evil force, event, or personage, mainly of supernatural origin, into the everyday world. Some of the most common elements of horror films are ghosts, torture, gore, werewolves, ancient curses, satanism, demons, vicious animals, vampires, cannibals, haunted houses, zombies and masked serial killers. Teenagers are commonly used for horrors movies as well so i will be able to use my chosen actors for this genre.

I am going to do horror as my genre, as i see it being the easiest genre for me to do in the way of coming up with ideas, i can easily make one on a cheap budget as shown by the two movies above, also i will be able to use my two actors i already have.
